Fuchsia Flow

Vest: Forever 21 (old), Jeans: Rag & Bone, Top: BCBG, Necklace: Via Farfax Flea Market, Bracelets: Gorjana Griffin c/o, Charming Charlie, & Crossroads Trading c/o, Shoes: Luichiny c/o, Sunnies: Chloe via Ditto c/o, Earrings: H&M, Bag: Charlotte Russe

A flowing fuchsia vest, distressed denim, and chic cap toe pumps make up today's easy breezy look. Sometimes, it's nice to just slip on a great pair of jeans, a cross body bag, and a few gold accessories and step out the door.
The distressed denim says relaxed and casual, while the flowing vest adds a bit of a more dressed up vibe.
Most days my uniform consists of a skirt or dress, but today's look was a welcome change.

I hope that you are having a great week so far. Thanks so much for visiting!

You Maybe Homeless But You Are Loved.

That was my message at a recent workshop I held for mothers wanting to stay clean and break their addiction to drugs that range from alcohol, pot, pills and heroin to crystal meth. Some of these women live in shelters or struggle to put a roof over their heads. From my personal experiences I can relate.

"You are beautiful from the inside out..." was my first message to the room. "We are no different from each other and you deserve to be treated as an equal." This I firmly believe based on my own life experiences.

Some may assume that with the struggles these women face, "beauty from the inside out" may not be the most important thing, but they're dead wrong!
The power that a human gets from understanding that they have inner beauty, can move mountains. We live in a world where magazines, TV, radio and social media are constantly telling women they are better off looking look like someone else (maybe a celebrity). Not being able to live up to these impossible standards can break a woman, especially one who is already battling an addiction.

Some women may also have to deal with other challenges,  like financial insecurity, physical abuse, mental health issues and crushing poverty. With this weight on their shoulders, there is often no room for feelings of self-worth. That's where inner beauty plays an important role.

By recognizing their "inner beauty," these women can be reminded that they deserve a good life, just like everyone else. They deserve love, deserve respect and deserve to be supported through difficult times, just like everyone else.

So if you're reading this, know that showing others' their inner beauty is extremely powerful. So many of us walk around depending on our outside appearances to represent who we are, but that only lasts so long. As I always say, a hairstyle lasts a day but self love is forever!

So spread the word, beauty is still just skin deep!

Feel free to write to me with any questions or comments. Remember that we can all bring joy to someone in need.

To love one's self is the beginning of a life long romance. - Oscar Wilde

Give love.
Give hope.
Give faith!

A Little Polka

Shirt: J Crew (on sale here), Skirt: The Limited (on sale here) c/o, Bracelets: In Pink c/o & Charlotte Russe, Earrings: H&M, Necklace: Isaiah Garza c/o, Bag: Valeria Smith, Shoes: Manolo Blahnik (available here)

Today's look was styled around this pretty polka dot skirt. I wanted to put a fun spin on it so I paired it with a subtly spotted shirt, green suede pumps, and a giant statement necklace (also seen here). This necklace, by the way, is easily one of the most beautiful statement necklaces that I have ever seen. You know that saying "less is more"? Well this piece, by the talented Isaiah Garza, screams "more is more". I love it.

I hope you are having a wonderful week. Thanks so much for reading!

Gingham Girl

Top: Lush via Fashion of Echo Boutique, Skirt: H&M (old), Jacket: Zara, Earrings: H&M, Bracelets: Gorjana Griffin c/o & Charming Charlie, Watch: Vintage, Shoes: Charlotte Russe c/o, Bag: Michael Kors

Happy Monday!
For Today's look, I wore a blue gingham skirt with a yellow checkered jacket. I loved the idea of matching the checkered prints together and I'm always a fan of pairing yellow with blue. Although, I'm excited for faux fur, boots, and layering, I sure will miss all of my pretty summer clothes. You can bet that I'll be "transitioning" as many items as possible into my fall wardrobe.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

seeking solace

Today I don't feel good. Once again I have inflammation of the skin (of the face) ... by allergies. Until my eyelids swell. pills don't work. skin hurts ... Massacre!

After all, I am looking for comfort and solace. What can be a better  than fashion! Nothing else matters! Browsing blogs and photos ... I catch a pencil and paper. I feel the tide of inspiration!

Orange Pop

Top: Express (Men's),  Skirt: (Dress worn as skirt) ASOS, Scarf: Vintage, Earrings: H&M, Sunnies: Chloe via Ditto Belt: ASOS (also loving this option), Bracelets: Gorjana Griffin c/o, In Pink c/o, Charlotte Russe, Watch: Vintage, Shoes: Charles David, Bag: Olivia & Joy c/o

Yes, I'm guilty of wearing another Men's shirt that I cut the sleeves off of. I just can't help myself. I love the over sized collar and relaxed fit, so today, I enlisted the help of this striped one to juxtapose my otherwise feminine look. I added a colorful scarf for a little print mixing and an orange bag to bring out some of the scarfs colors. I kept my shoes neutral and added a metal sheet belt for a little extra waist cinching.

I'm feeling a little under the weather so I'm thrilled that the weekend is just around the corner. A little rest is just what the doctor prescribed.

I hope you had a great week! Thanks so much for reading!
